First of all, Happy Mothers Day to my wonderful Mum!

My Mum is a big fan of stilton, pears, apricots and mushrooms; these were so much fun to make. I was going to put a gold salmon on there too but decided against it at the last minute! I’d been wanting to make some more ‘natural’ cakes for a while now and to make fruits, vegetables and flowers with green leaves rather than silver!

My fiance took me to Rome as a surprise for my 30th birthday; I do love sightseeing and being touristy. I spent a lot of time photographing floors and ceilings wondering how to transform what I’ve seen in sugar! The frescoes, geometric patterns and Baroque architecture are incredible and so inspiring.

This was in the Basilica of St John Lateran, dreadful photo I know (it was dark and this was above a very large door!) I loved the vegetables and I’ve not seen veggie sculptures anywhere else. Definitely need to make some pumpkins!
